New Members Night
March 22, 2008
The event takes place at the American Legion Hall, Post 404 on South Barre Rd in Barre MA. Social hour begins at 6:00 PM followed by a pot luck dinner. Please bring your favorite dish. Dessert will furnished by the club. There will also be a cash bar available.
We will have a very short meeting followed by our guest speaker Elwin Bacon. Elwin Bacon has been working as a farrier for over 15 years. He is AFA (American Farrier's Association) certified with a strong interest in lameness and corrective shoeing. Elwin is also one of the original six founding members of NEECA. He has been involved in the club for 12 years, 10 of these serving as chairman.
Elwin will be speaking about the importance of good hoof care and confirmation as it relates to hooves. He will also be updating us on the progress that NEECA is making with their equestrian park in Athol, MA.
We invite all members and non-members to join us. This is a great opportunity to find out what our club is all about. For more information please contact us.

Group Trail Ride
May 17, 2008
NEECA is offering a trail ride at Lake Dennison in Winchendon. The ride is to benefit Miracles in Motion, theraputic riding school.
This would be a great chance for our club to support NEECA plus the benefit of riding in a beautiful setting. For more info contact Jane.

Ride

We encourage members of all ages to attend. Classes will include leadline to adult. Some of the leadliners may be adults. We are planning a costume and pairs classes. Let’s have some fun getting creative with the costumes. You do not have to ride your horse, if you feel more comfortable, you may lead it. This show is about SAFETY & FUN. The pairs class can be any kind of pair, very matched or the “odd couple”.
We will also have some games. Some of the games we will be playing are egg & spoon, water race, sit a buck and vegetable stew, just to name a few. Check out the class list.
Lunch will be provided by the club. Entry fee for the show will be canned goods to be donated to a local food bank. Let's have some fun with our horses and share some good laughs. Come see if the kids can really out ride the old fogies. The show begins at 10:00 AM at Felton Field.
